How should I spend New Year's Eve in Baltimore?
Baltimore really shines on New Year’s Eve, when thousands of people flock to the Inner Harbor to enjoy live performances ahead of a spectacular fireworks show. The Inner Harbor Ice Rink will be open until midnight on New Year’s Eve, so you can skate to the sounds of Baltimore’s best musicians.
Many Inner Harbor museums also have extended hours on New Year’s Eve. The National Aquarium is open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Port Discovery will be open from 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. and is hosting its annual Noontime New Year Event at 12 p.m. The Maryland Science Center is open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and is hosting its Midnight Noon event from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
You don’t have to look too hard to find New Year’s Eve parties in Baltimore. Most bars in Federal Hill and Fell’s Point host ticketed events or have special drink offers while Watermark Cruises and City Cruises often throw themed parties that provide a front-row seat to the fireworks over the water. Another way to celebrate the start of 2025 is with a decadent dinner at Pendry Baltimore, the Ivy Hotel, the Four Seasons or one of Baltimore’s other luxurious locales.
Will Baltimore have fireworks for New Year's Eve?
Yes! Pre-firework entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. along the Inner Harbor, followed by fireworks at the stroke of midnight. Fireworks barges will be positioned between Point Park and Domino Sugar and in the Inner Harbor Channel to ensure optimal views for attendees at both the Inner Harbor and Federal Hill.
Where can I watch NYE fireworks?
The best views of the fireworks are along the Inner Harbor promenade and surrounding areas, including the waterfront neighborhoods of Canton, Federal Hill, Fell’s Point, Harbor East and Locust Point.
